Name: Saint Michael's College Fire and Rescue (1969-)

Historical Note: Saint Michael's College Fire and Rescue was founded in 1969 following the tragic death of a student during an athletic event.  Students took part in ems training and purchased an ambulance and fire engine.  In April 1970, the two units combined into Fire and Rescue.  By 1972 they had an agreement with Colchester volunteer Fire and Rescue and today still work under that agreement.  They also respond to calls in a number of area towns.
