The committee was formed in the fall of 1976 by Academic Dean Vernon Gallagher. Its purpose was to examine academic advising at Saint Michael’s and offer ways to improve the system. Many recommendations of this committee were later adopted by the Steering Committee on the Coordination of Academic Advising (SMC 9.39)
