Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Boutin commons are the 100 townhouses. As with the other townhouses, these were built as an alternate form of dormitory beginning in 1981 through 1982. The dorms were seen as an energy efficient housing option, offering apartment-like living to upper level students in an effort to keep them living on campus. The townhouses were designed with between 2 and four bedrooms, a common living space, and full bathroom and kitchen spaces. In 2004, the 100 series townhouses were named Boutin Commons, after the first lay president of the college, Bernard Boutin.
