Collection Overview
Scope and Contents of the Materials
Recordings of Saint Michael's College cultural and sporting events, from the 1950's to the present. Events represented include theater events, musical events, guest speakers, public lectures, and some marketing materials. Events from the earliest years were usually recorded in a different format and were transferred to either VHS tape or DVD. Some items included in the list are sound recordings.
Collection Historical Note
For many years the college attempted to record many of the myriad events taking place on campus. Sometimes events would be filmed by a college employee, but spectators also contributed some materials. While a great number of events from the 1990s to 2005 were recorded, there was never a comprehensive and ongoing documentation program on campus, so it is likely that other events occurred on campus that were never recorded, or were never deposited in the archives.
