In 1951, Rev. Eugene Alliot became the first pastor of Immaculate Heart Parish in Williston, Vermont, continuing the work he had begun as chaplain for the Carmelite Nuns. (Until the church was built, the small Roman Catholic population of Williston heard mass in the public chapel adjoining the nuns’ cloistered chapel.) Edmundites continued to administer the parish until 1989, when it returned to the diocese.
