Scope and Contents of the Materials
This record group consists primarily of minutes of meetings. Usually the minutes include a brief annual report from each house. Occasionally longer reports and additional documentation is also included. It is arranged chronologically.
Collection Historical Note
Each local house of the Society of Saint Edmund has a Superior who is responsible for all aspects of the house, both temporal and spiritual. The Constitution of the society requires that the superiors meet with the superior general one time a year. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the “state of the Society’s life and mission.” Often times the meetings often include reports about each house.
