Records Relating to COSATA (1967-1969) | Saint Michael's College Archives & Special Collections

The Commission on Studies and Apostolate (COSATA) was instituted on Sept. 20, 1965, to assist the Superior General in studying the program of studies and the apostolate.  Its formation complied with the request of Pope Pius XII to set up such an organization.  Its role was to observe and make recommendations on the academic, spiritual, and pastoral programs for Novices and college and seminary studies for both scholastics and coadjutator brothers.  Also, the Superior General charged the committee with making recommendations for graduate studies and to coordinate the programs once begun.  The Committee was in existence until the Apostolate Committee superceded it.

The series consists of correspondence, minutes, and reports.
