This series consists of the business records of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph (r.h.s.j.) sisters who operated Fanny Allen Hospital from 1894 until the merger with Medical Center Hospital of Vermont to form Fletcher Allen Health Care in 1995, with some later documents. The Sisters, who served as Superiors, Administrators, and in the business offices, were responsible for essentially all aspects of the hospital and these records reflect their financial and legal dealings, their relationship with the bishops and with the diocese, their provision of health care and dealing with patient accounts, as well as their role serving on the various boards and committees of the modern hospital.
