Carey Kaplan was an English professor at Saint Michael's College from 1973 until receiving emeritus status in 2016.  Arriving int he earliest days of co-education, Kaplan was an important female presence on campus.  In 1978, she worked with Buff Lindau coordinating the Women in Society program on campus.  Drabble spoke on campus soon after.
