Administrative/Biographical History
Rev. Richard Myhalyk became Superior General in 1998 following the retirement of Superior General Hart. Myhalyk, a native of Elmira NY, graduated from Saint Michael's College in 1966. After his ordination in 1971, Fr. Myhalyk served at Saint Michael's College, followed by service in Mobile, AL. He served as vocation director and assistant to the Superior General, even serving briefly as acting Superior General during the medical leave of Rev. Edward Leary. He was the principal Drafter of the 1986 Constitution. He spent a number of years working at Saint Michael's College as institutional researcher and assistant to Pres. Paul Reiss. Immediately prior to becoming Superior General he served in the Southern Missions, and he returned to Selma as Mission Director after his final term as Superior General.
