Administrative/Biographical History
Initiated in the academic year of 1969-1970, the Student Association is the governing organization of the student assembly at St. Michael’s College. Acting as an intermediary between college officials and the student body, the SA is directly involved with the affairs of the college. Primarily, it regulates and allocates funds for student clubs and organizations, promotes student involvement in the college and arranges events throughout the academic year for students. Comprised of students, the members of the SA are elected on a yearly basis in a student election. The Executive Board consists of the President, Vice-President and seven Secretarial positions (such as Student Policy and Finances). The general assembly consists of club, hall/townhouse and class representatives. These two bodies combine to make up the Senate; collectively, they address issues concerning students and vote when necessary.
