Records Relating to Poverty (1977) | Saint Michael's College Archives & Special Collections
This Committee was set up to study the vow of Poverty and what role it should play in the Constitution of the Society. All members of the Society of Saint Edmund take a vow of poverty at their perpetual profession and annually thereafter. Over the years, the vow of poverty meant different things. This committee was formed to determine the role and meaning that poverty would play under the new constitutions of the Society. Its work is represented in the chapter on poverty in the SSE Constitution (1986). This collection consists of general documents related to the work of the committee.
